Scar Tissue

This is, honest to god, the best book I’ve ever read on one persons experience into the depths of drug addiction.

I’ve read a lot on drug addiction since I was young, I remember reading Go Ask Alice at the age of 15[which I consider one of the worst examples for multiple reasons].

Once you’ve seen a solution to the disease that’s tearing you apart, relapsing is never fun. You know there’s an alternative to the way you’re living and that you’re going against something you’ve been given for free by the universe, the key to the kingdom. Drug addiction is a progressive disease, so every time you go out, it a little uglier than it was before; it’s not like you go back to the early days of using, when there was less of a price to pay.

This book just made so much sense to me about the nature of my disease of drug addiction. I don’t know if it will speak to you so much if you’ve never experienced addiction but if you have I recomend reading it greatly. Honestly this book has inspired me to return to NA meetings and work at the steps again.

Readers - feel free to share you favorite books, quotes and what not on addiction.

I’m blogging way too much

I got Snuff on pre-order before the marketing started but seriously how great is the marketing for this book? How much do I love Chuck Palahniuk?

She has a myspace page!!!
